Brent crude oil, produced in the Brent oilfield in the North Sea, is a high-quality light crude oil with low sulfur content. It is measured in barrels, and the price represents the value of 1 barrel of Brent crude oil in USD. Because the oilfield is near the middle east, Brent crude oil price often fluctuates rapidly when there's some political instability in the area. It also has a low supply cost because it's produced at an offshore oil field. Brent crude oil is the benchmark for crude oil prices in Europe and serves as an international benchmark for oil prices.
